Fourth graders will continue to focus on reading music.  They use recorders and voices to demonstrate their ability to play and sing the notes they read, including rhythmic and melodic notation on a treble staff.  Children pick up where they left off in third grade, reading songs in the "Recorder Karate" method book by Barb Philipak.  They are encouraged to finish three songs, but they may excel to the 9th level and achieve their Black Belt.  Any student reaching this high goal has their name read over the intercom for the morning announcements.

The fourth graders have a concert on February 21, 2013 at 6:30 pm.

Fourth graders may sign up to be in the Fry School Chorus.  See the tab marked "Chorus" for more information.  Students are welcome to join at the beginning of the school year, or in January when we begin new music.
They may also sign up to be the Fry 4th Grade Orff Ensemble.  There is a sign up at the beginning of the year, and a drawing for placement in one of the 36 spots.
